A Call to Sing - Kilkenny Arts Festival 2011
Would you like to perform at Ireland’s leading Arts Festival?
Following on from our successful inaugural choral event last year, Kilkenny Arts Festival are delighted to announce details of our Choral event for 2011. Members of choirs from throughout Ireland are being invited to take part in a choral project during the 2011 Kilkenny Arts Festival consisting of:
- A concert performance of Mozart’s Requiem and Vaughan Williams Serenade To Music

Rehearsals and workshops throughout Festival week:
Rehearsals Tuesday 9th – Friday 12th August
Performance Saturday 13th August - This year we are adding an optional extra workshop on Sunday 26th June
- Working under the direction of conductor Fergus Sheil
- Working with a professional orchestra and leading soloists from Ireland and abroad
- Singing in the magnificent setting of St. Canice’s Cathedral.
- Tuition from experienced singers and voice coaches.
The total cost of participating in the Choral project is €70
This covers the purchase of music, the making of a practise CD, and other administrative costs.
Places in Kilkenny Festival Chorus are limited in order to maintain a balanced choir. To secure a place please submit the choral application form along with €70 non refundable fee:

Places will be secured on a ‘first come, first served’ basis after which names will go on a waiting list should there be cancellations.
UPDATE 11 May 2011 - We have reached our quota of Altos for the choir.
Members of the Festival Choir will be entitled to:
- A reduction in ticket prices to many festival events
- An accommodation package with hotels and B&Bs for those wishing to stay overnight in Kilkenny
