Join the Revolution!

An award-winning hit at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Counting Sheep is a breathtaking ‘folk opera'. Created by musicians Mark and Marichka Marczyk with Balkan-klezmer-punk band the Lemon Bucket Orkestra, this groundbreaking show offers a personal retelling of the Maidan revolution, the popular uprising that succeeded in toppling the Ukrainian government in 2014.

An explosive mix of theatre, dance, music and song that pitches audiences head first into the chaos of those days, Counting Sheep invites you to experience the exhilaration, passion and heartbreak of revolution up close in 360 degrees. Don't miss this moving, joyous show in its only Irish performances.

Awards: Scotsman Fringe First, Amnesty International Freedom of Expression (Highly Commended), The Summerhall Top Prize, Dark Chat Special Award, Total Theatre (shortlist), Carol Tambor Best of Fringe (shortlist), TVBomb Groundbreaker (shortlist)

Presented by the Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Hot Feat Canada Ltd and Selfconscious Productions

Please note: tickets are available in two zones: 'immersive' (which also includes some food and standing for part of the show) and ‘viewing’ (fully seated).

Mark and Marichka Marczyk discuss the Ukrainian revolution on Wednesday 16 August in Rothe House.
