Rothe House Museum & Garden is an historic house in Kilkenny. It is the only example of an early 17th century merchant’s townhouse in Ireland. It is the centre for Irish genealogy in Kilkenny. The beautiful Gardens, open since 2008, is a reconstruction of an early 17th century urban garden, and has become a very popular garden to visit in Ireland. This beautiful house has played host to a series of talks, lectures and workshops through the years including Seamus Heaney in 1974 and Michael Gordon, the American composer in 2013.
