The Festival has long sought to bring the finest chamber music to Kilkenny, and this year’s Chamber Music in the Afternoon series is no exception, welcoming a stellar line-up of international and Irish artists to perform works by a thrillingly wide range of composers including Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Buckley, Britten, Elgar, Brahms and Pärt. We’re delighted to welcome the exciting young chamber music ensemble Musici Ireland to the Festival for this pair of concerts in the Black Abbey, starting with chamber and choral works by the great Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, whose unmistakable sound has thrilled audiences all over the world for more than 40 years.
