The Parade Tower in Kilkenny Castle, known as the South Tower, is the dedicated events area of the castle and incorporates the entire west wing and two of its original medieval towers. It is a truly unique and historic venue combining state-of-the-art-facilities in a beautiful medieval tower. The Tower is hugely historic in its own right. It housed the Great Council Chamber where Parliament sat in the 17th century.

First, you will enter through this door. It is rectangular and light green.

Then, at the ticket desk, you can collect your tickets and a volunteer will check them.

Then, you will go up to the second floor using either a set of stone stairs or the lift. The lift is small and can only fit 1 wheelchair and a carer or up to 6 people, so it may have a long queue.
Once you arrive at the top, you will turn to your left and see this door. Volunteers will be there to direct you.

Then, inside the room, the seating is general admission, so you can choose where to sit. The events at the parade tower should be calm, but may be crowded. Some events may have a presentation with sound so you can bring your ear defenders if you need them.
