Journey through the supernatural imagination of Europe: saints and sorcerers, devils and dancing witches, storms, ghosts and the twilight of the Norse gods.
In this vividly theatrical programme directed by Henning Kraggerud, the Irish Chamber Orchestra weaves together music by Vivaldi, Mozart, Schubert, Mussorgsky and others into a world of elemental drama and haunting beauty. From the icy fury of The Four Seasons and the demonic brilliance of Tartini’s Devil’s Trill to Mussorgsky’s ‘Baba Yaga’ and Kraggerud’s own apocalyptic Ragnarok, this is a concert where myth, folklore and virtuosity collide.
