Kentucky fiddle virtuoso Liz Knowles, Congolese guitarist-vocalist Niwel Tsumbu and Irish concertina master Niall Vallely were all familiar to Festival audiences before they started playing together.
They made their Marble City Sessions debut as a trio in 2024, wowing audiences with their adventurous spirit, and this year they return for this exciting collaboration with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, featuring arrangements specially made for ICO by the trio. From driving tunes to soulful African grooves with rich orchestra textures, Sun Lines explores a shared musical language that transcends borders, genres and traditions.
