Share your Festival Memories with us!

We are excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kilkenny Arts Festival, a significant milestone in our community's cultural heritage! To mark this occasion, and with the support of Kilkenny County Council, we are hosting Echoes of a Festival: Celebrating 50 years of Kilkenny Arts Festival - an exhibition space showcasing the festival's rich history, which will be displayed for the duration of the festival this August.
As part of this celebration, this Saturday July 1st we will be hosting a special "Memories Event" from 10am - 3pm in the Smithwicks Experience in Kilkenny. This occasion is the chance to film/document/capture stories from past participants, volunteers and friends of the festival. We invite you to join us and contribute to this unique event of festival recollections, and would love for you to share your own anecdotes, reflections, and cherished moments over the years! The material gathered from this event, combined with old archival footage from the festival's early days - will be exhibited as part of a showcase in Kilkenny throughout the duration of the festival, for members of the public to attend.
If you are interested in participating in this event, please contact us at info@kilkennyarts.ie
If July 1st is not a suitable date but you would still like to participate - please email our Festival Assistant Producer Gary O'Neill and we can try to make alternative arrangements in person or remotely.
We look forward to meeting with you!
