Peter Hanly had enjoyed a successful stage and screen career for 30 years when, during a dress rehearsal for Friel’s Molly Sweeney in 2011, he suddenly experienced stage fright. The crisis was so profound that within a year he’d given up acting altogether. Until now.
In What Are You Afraid Of? Hanly returns to the stage in this self-penned work exploring what happened to him and asking himself - and the audience - what are you afraid of?
Following their award-winning co-production of Solar Bones, Rough Magic returns to Kilkenny with the full story of the fragment presented last year.
Featuring magnetic performances from Hanly and the cast, What Are You Afraid Of? is a funny, moving and uplifting story about learning to cope with fear.
Previews 5 & 6 August.
Please note: there will be an ISL interpreted performance on Monday 11 August. To access the best seats for the interpreted performance, please email the box office at boxoffice@kilkennyarts.ie.
