Writer, playwright, performer and Human Rights Commissioner Rosaleen McDonagh comes to the Festival to talk about her new novel, Contentious Spaces, in the company of Maureen Kennelly.
The first work of fiction to explore the inner lives of characters from the Traveller community, the novel focuses on a Traveller family living under the threat of eviction by the local council. It’s a haunting and unflinching story about identity and loyalty, shame and resilience, grief and love, and the defiant power of voices that refuse to be silenced.
In conversation with Maureen Kennelly.
