Niwel Tsumbu is a Congolese-born guitarist whose style draws on an ‘exquisite and almost seamless’ fusion of jazz, classical, rock, folk and rumba (All About Jazz).
He’s performed with the likes of Sinéad O’Connor, Buena Vista Social Club and Baaba Maal, and his global reach was cemented with his guitar work on the Grammy Award-winning album They’re Calling Me Home by Rhiannon Giddens and Francesco Turrisi.
Ahead of his collaboration with Turrisi, Éamonn Cagney and Rhiannon Giddens, Tsumbu performs an intimate solo gig in Cleere’s, showcasing his virtuosic guitar playing and thrilling improvisations.
